Natasha Miller is the founder and CEO (and jazz vocalist who will soon be releasing her memoir!) of event and entertainment production company, San Francisco-based Entire Productions. “We produce bold, amazing events for mostly Fortune 500 companies.” Learn about Natasha Miller…
Hometown: Des Moines, IA, now in San Francisco/Oakland, CA
First job: Food server at a retirement home.
Favorite ways to spend your free time in California: Walking Crissy Field, sailing on the bay and helping fellow entrepreneurs within my inner network within the Entrepreneurs Organization.
Your biggest accomplishment and why: Rewriting my history (my memoir will be out this year), from a homeless shelter as an abandoned child to the Inc. 5000.
The biggest obstacle you overcame: Not being supported as a young person, always waiting for someone to see/rescue me.
Someone who inspires you and why: Dianne Pope, my orchestra conductor from high school. She was one of very few female symphony conductors and really shaped my life.
Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Devour all the information you can find on what you love. Find mentors. Learn. Don’t think you can do it all yourself and make it up as you go. I did that, and learned the hard way. Things got much easier when I started listening to people who have succeeded.
Favorite quote: “Just Do It.”
Something someone would be surprised to learn about you: So many things. Most people don’t know about my past. A lot of my current core business clients don’t know that I was a performance artist–jazz vocalist who toured and had seven CDs released. I also know how to double-dutch jump rope and know sign language.
What makes someone fabulous: Being sincere, authentic and having varied interests. Being honest and trustworthy. Have a zeal and passion for their lives and giving back.
