Hometown: Marin County, Calif.

First job: I learned hospitality at a young age. My first job was hosting dinner parties for my parents and their friends in Atlanta when I was 10 years old.

Favorite ways to spend your free time in CA: California has so much to offer. I love being outdoors, running, swimming, fishing, anything on the water and preferably with my family.

Your biggest accomplishment and why: Being appointed as the general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco. I am humbled to lead such an iconic hotel with the most outstanding ladies and gentlemen (staff).

The biggest obstacle you overcame: I started in hourly ranks with Marriott 17 years ago and had to climb a lot of mountains and put in the work along the way to get where I am now.

Someone who inspires you and why: My mother – she is a lover of life, ardent feminist, has a passion for everything and a constant thirst for knowledge.

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Strive for perfection but do it with a sense of humor.

Something someone would be surprised to learn about you: I collect vintage Grateful Dead concert posters. Over the last 20 years, I’ve collected more than 50.
