How did your love story begin? Sanam: In 2018, my friend Shanna planned a trip to New York City with a few of her other girlfriends. On that trip, the girls met and befriended a group of guys, including Ilan, who Shanna knew instantly would be my soulmate! The last night of her trip, she texted me saying “Sanam, I found your husband. He’s coming to LA in about two weeks. You have to meet him!” Two weeks later, Ilan and his friends came to LA for a quick trip. The first night, Ilan and I met was at the Hyde nightclub in Hollywood. After a bit of small talk that night, we went our separate ways. About four days later, I went on my annual Vegas trip to enjoy some Christmas Persian concerts. As I leaving the first Persian concert, I walked out the doors and there was Ilan, as if it was meant for him to be there that moment! That’s where our love story began. After the Vegas trip came to an end, we were both sad and admittedly nervous about what was to happen next. Ilan couldn’t help himself, so he flew out to LA to surprise me. His intention was to take me on an official first date. After that first date, Ilan knew I was the one. After one year of a very loving, fun and serious long-distance relationship (the airport was our home, ha!), Ilan decided to make the move to LA. After one year of becoming an LA boy, Ilan popped the question and I said yes!
Favorite thing about one another: Sanam: My favorite thing about Ilan is his heart and how calm he can be in any situation. He really knows how to balance me out. Ilan: My favorite thing about Sanam is her bubbly and spontaneous personality. It’s contagious! She’s also so hardworking and driven! It always impresses me.
Favorite date night: Staying in, drinking wine and watching a Marvel movie.
Favorite tradition you have as a couple: Every hotel we stay at, we always order room service for hot cookies and milk at the end of the night. We have yet to decide which hotel has the best cookies and continue the hunt!
What does your happily ever after look like? Our happily ever after began the day we got married at The Beverly Hilton. Our future goals as a couple are to build a home with lots of babies and to raise them together. We look forward to growing old together as we watch our children build their own lives and follow their dreams as we did. Our hopes and dreams are to wake up every morning happy and content with what we have built together. We hope to keep encouraging each other to grow within our work and personal lives.
