Fab Philanthropists

Molly Bracken

Founder and Board Member at Bracken’s Kitchen

Based in Orange County and founded in 2013, Bracken’s Kitchen is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to “re-purpose and restore” lives through food rescue efforts, culinary training and a carefully crafted community feeding program.

What motivates you to pursue this kind of philanthropy? Our primary motivation to do this work is that God made it clear to my husband that he was to use his talent as a chef to feed His people, so we remain true to that mission.

You’re an inspiration to so many — who has most inspired you? My husband Bill has inspired me in the way that he has pursued his calling. I always strive to follow his lead, doing whatever I can for the cause.

Best advice for someone looking to give back and get involved in their community: My best advice for someone looking to get involved is to try to find an organization that supports something you’re passionate about, and just try it on for size. You’ll never know how you really feel about something until you get your hands dirty doing it.

What impact do you most hope to leave on the world? I hope that people would just see my faith and feel my hope and love, and realize that you can impact the world just by helping one person.
