Fabulous Eco-Winemakers: Part 3

Flowers - Chantal Forthun

Chantal Forthun of Flowers Vineyards & Winery

Tell us about the sustainable and eco-friendly practices at the vineyard: Committed to the stewardship of the land, Flowers has practiced sustainable, organic, biodynamic farming throughout the estate vineyards since they were first planted in 1991. Flowers estate vineyards, Camp Meeting Ridge and Sea View Ridge, acquired California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF) certification in 2020. After decades of farming and caring for these exceptional sites, Flowers has unlocked precision, purity and the power of place in the single-vineyard estate bottlings. We worked intimately with Sea View Ridge and Camp Meeting Ridge for over a decade and possesses a deep, intimate understanding of the estate and its incredibly diverse terroir.

Tell us about the varietals you make: As one of the first to plant vineyards along the Sonoma Coast, Flowers Vineyards & Winery has been growing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir along the extreme Sonoma Coastline and Pacific Ocean for more than 30 years.
