Fabulous Eco-Winemakers: Part 4

Mari Wells Coyle of ONEHOPE

Tell us about the sustainable and eco-friendly practices at the vineyard: ONEHOPE is a Napa Valley winery on a mission to transform wine distribution, and to change the world with wine. The company donates 10 percent of every purchase to the customer’s cause of choice. To date, they’ve donated over $9 million supporting over 40,000 nonprofits through sharing award-winning wine and giving hope.

ONEHOPE’s estate vineyard in Rutherford is certified organic. A large majority of the fruit we source for our wines is also from organically farmed vineyards. ONEHOPE is committed to practices with low use of water at the winery. We recycle all the water we do use and re-use it for irrigation. Also, the company uses reduced glass weight on some wines to reduce our carbon footprint. Additionally, we use wine shippers from recycled material.

The ONEHOPE Foundation has funded notable projects supporting the environment. They funded and planted an entire forest in Indonesia, a solar project for a remote village in Colombia, a solar water farm, and more.

Tell us about the varietals you make: ONEHOPE produces a wide variety of 90-plus point wines sourced from the world’s finest growing regions. Our 10-acre organically farmed vineyard in Rutherford produces our Estate Sauvignon Blanc, Fumé Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon. These are part of our Iconic Collection and produced in limited quantities. ONEHOPE also produces several additional collections, including our best-selling Vintner Collection wines.
