Hometown: Dayton, Ohio

First job: Bell ringer for the Salvation Army.

Favorite ways to spend your free time in CA: I love going to the beach to see the sunset every day with my family.

Your biggest accomplishment and why: Becoming a husband and a father is my biggest accomplishment because I had to learn to be selfless in every single decision that I make for myself. I am literally the most altruistic person I’ve ever known.

The biggest obstacle you overcame: The biggest obstacle I overcame was being raised by a single-parent father, with my two older brothers, after my mother died of an aneurysm when I was two weeks old. I was forced to live in a foster home throughout high school, and I watched both of my foster parents die separately before I graduated. My biological father died a year later, so by the time I was 18 I lost both my biological and both of my foster parents. I spent the last six weeks of my senior year in a home with absolutely no parents. Four years later, I graduated from Morehouse College with a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry. I also hold my MBA from Strayer University.

Someone who inspires you and why: My wife inspires me every day because she reminds me of how great I am and supports my every endeavor and all of my dreams. We created Curls Poppin’ as an answer to a need in the hair market and to diversify the doll market. We also support each other and have the trademark BossParents and have a vlog and events to help other parents navigate life by educating, motivating, validating and inspiring them, our children and those that we interact with every day.

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Advice for anyone who wants to pursue my career path I say: “Seek to be educated in your craft. With so much information readily available at our fingertips on smart devices, it does not have to be a formal education. Do what you enjoy and what feels good and learn as many lessons as you can on your journey.  Be a good person and do good work and you will always make money to live the life you truly desire.”

Favorite quote: “Never give up until you have released your unused capacities for service and shared your gifts with others.”

Something someone would be surprised to learn about you: People would be surprised to know I was raised by a single-parent father, that I was on a Netflix game show called 24 AWAKE and Counting, and that I eloped in Paris and got married in garden of the Louvre with my wife on my 35th birthday. Lastly, that we own six chickens.

What makes someone fabulous: Being an altruistic person makes a person fabulous. Also, a person who takes care of themselves, mentally, socially, emotionally and physically while inspiring those around them.
