Hometown: I’m from Port Chester, NY. I have lived in Los Angeles for over 14 years.

First job: A room service waiter at a hotel on the East Coast.

Favorite ways to spend your free time in CA: Spending quality time with my two amazing daughters, Cielo and Gracie, and my loving husband and partner in business, Joey Toth.

Your biggest accomplishment and why: Bringing our two daughters into the world and being a dad has been my greatest accomplishment and joy. My husband and I see it as our role and responsibility to teach our girls love, acceptance and the importance of accomplishing a life filled with joy and kindness. Seeing the world through their eyes has transformed me in ways I can’t describe.

The biggest obstacle you overcame: Realizing that perfection is futile. Everyone has flaws, including myself. I’m constantly evolving and learning every day. Letting go of the idea of perfection is necessary to realizing your full potential.

Someone who inspires you and why: I stand on the shoulders of the incredible women in my life. My mother has been a constant source of inspiration throughout my career. She has been my cheerleader, my confidant and even was my personal assistant for over 15 years. She has taught me that the simple things in life are most important. Be kind. Treat others as you wish to be treated. Look out for others who need support or guidance. Always smile. My grandmother has also been an integral part of shaping who I am today. She was bold, brassy, loving and kind. She was a simple woman that worked hard and taught me the power of love, positivity and acceptance.

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Creativity in and of itself is not enough to achieve success. To be successful in this business, there are no short cuts – you have to do the work, learn the business and understand the industry. This is why I created our education platforms for those who are looking to elevate their careers and businesses in the event planning industry.

I also think it’s incredibly important to approach your work from a place of inclusion, joy and clarity. There has to be joy found in the environment and the work that needs to be done. There has to be a connection between the work and someone’s passion or desire to grow.

Favorite quote: “Just do it.” Get over your fears, doubts and self-judgments that are preventing you from living the life you desire. If you want something, find a way.

Something someone would be surprised to learn about you: I’m an extreme introvert! The nature of my work requires me to constantly be around people, so I cherish the time I have for myself to rest and recharge.

What makes someone fabulous: There is nothing more fabulous than being yourself.
