First job: First real job outside of working at boscia was being a lifeguard and swim instructor at my local aquatics complex.
Favorite ways to spend your free time in CA: Anything outdoors with my family – we especially enjoy swimming at the beach!
Your biggest accomplishment and why: Being a mother of three and working full time. Personally, it is difficult to work full time and take care of my three children (5-year-old daughter and twin boys who are almost 4), but it is also my greatest accomplishment.
The biggest obstacle you overcame: The need to be accepted and liked by all. This need, at times, made me lose myself.
Someone who inspires you and why: My mother. She devoted her life to raise myself and my two younger sisters in Japan. Becoming a mother, myself, I see how hard this must have been, but she made it look so easy. I’m inspired by her strength and her gentleness. She is empathetic, patient and kind, and I’m inspired to be more like her in my day-to-day life.
Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Have a clear vision as to what your brand stands for. There is so many new beauty brands, you must have a very clear point of difference.
