First job: Agent at Solidarites, a French, non-governmental organization, in Kigali, Rwanda. The project was to create clean water in rural areas.

Favorite ways to spend your free time in CA: Driving to the beach and hiking. I’m especially lucky to have such amazing trails close by.

Your biggest accomplishment and why: Finding positivity after surviving a genocide and raising my siblings with my parents. Learn to live!

The biggest obstacle you overcame: Not giving up [on] humanity.

Someone who inspires you and why: My parents, especially my mother. She was a young bride in an arranged marriage, and she made it work despite the multitude of challenges throughout her life.

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Be true to yourself! Your challenges should be your lessons in life.
