Fabulous People: Vanessa Ringel

Vanessa Ringel is the founder of GRAVITĀS, an LA-based neuro-coaching company and manifestation community, empowering women to attract love globally. Learn about Vanessa Ringel…

Hometown: Los Angeles, CA

First job: Sales associate at Giorgio Armani.

Favorite ways to spend your free time in CA: Yoga, hikes, dancing, painting, playing with my toddler, being teased by my funny husband, walking on the beach at sunset and singing in traffic.

Your biggest accomplishment and why: The truth is that despite all my professional accomplishments, the greatest one is my son because he is the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done. Career-wise, launching my own business and getting it to thrive in an industry I knew nothing about was quite the undertaking, and being able to serve so many inspiring women who are now in love, more fulfilled and/or married (YES!) because of our work is my greatest pride and joy.

The biggest obstacle you overcame: Honestly, my own ego, telling me I was never good enough to go for my dreams, feeling scared to make a mistake, terrified to be rejected when I put my work out there. My ego was disguised as perfectionism, and it stopped me from really being seen and taking the risks required to succeed for many years.

Someone who inspires you and why: Dr. Joe Dispenza because he is merging neuroscience with spirituality in a way that is opening up the field, despite the criticism he’s received from the scientific community. He is a true visionary and leader by making this knowledge accessible and comprehensible to millions of people.

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Coaching is truly the most creative and rewarding career path. From my experience, you need to be entrepreneurial to succeed in it because it’s the kind of career where you forge your own path. Your coaching skills are a tiny part of what’s needed to become a successful coach. Most of it has to do with your mindset. As with anything, success is 80 percent mindset and 20 percent strategy.

Favorite quote: “The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.” –George Bernard Shaw

Something someone would be surprised to learn about you: I grew up in Mexico and Switzerland. At my core, I feel a third American, a third Latina and a third European. You can’t see it by looking at me but inside my heart is divided across the globe.

What makes someone fabulous: To be unapologetically herself or himself. Authenticity is magnetic and a breath of fresh air these days. Research shows people connect based on vulnerability and authenticity, not on how impressive they are. Being able to connect deeply with others makes someone fabulous in my book.
