Restaurant of the Week: CocoCabana Rooftop Bar

Occupying the 2,100-sq.-ft. rooftop of The Brick Hotel – a charming self-service 10-room boutique hotel in Downtown Oceanside – is the CocoCabana Rooftop Bar.

Located in North County, The Brick Hotel, along with CocoCabana and Q&A Restaurant and Oyster Bar, are the newests addition to the Grind and Prosper Hospitality Group portfolio.

Sitting atop The Brick Hotel, CocoCabana is a fun and vibrant bar with stunning sunset views and the most Instagrammable decor and drinks. No matter what time of day you visit, the views will be fabulous, whether it’s looking out at the blue skies over the ocean, catching the orange and purple skies at sunset, or enjoying the twinkling lights of Downtown Oceanside in the evening.


The fun and unique drink menu is the main attraction here, with cocktail names like Thirst Trap, Havana Good Time and Miami Pound Machine. There is also a great wine list and selection of beers, including a non-alcoholic Two Roots Brewing beer from San Diego.

You can also enjoy some sharable bites at CocoCabana, including jerk butter-charboiled oysters, chipotle BBQ prawns and jerk duck confit. Our personal favorite is the Wagyu charbroiled skewers in a tangy lime marinade with onions and peppers.


The rooftop brunch at CocoCabana is available Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is the ultimate day-drinking spot and perfect for birthday and bachelorette parties. On the breakfast menu you will find plantain hash and eggs, a breakfast baked potato and a tropical fruit bowl. The brunch cocktails are equally Insta-worthy featuring a Caribbean Bloody and Mimosas Tropicales.
