After its grand opening in early October in the V Palm Springs Hotel, GiGi’s Restaurant & Lounge has brought unique signature dishes back from the Golden Ages with a modern twist to the luxurious city of Palm Springs.
With inspiration pulled from the desertscapes found throughout California, GiGi’s offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere with a neutral color palette that features vibrant pops of color. The layout is open and offers indoor seating at the dining room and bar, or outside on the patio with a secondary bar and fire pit–the perfect hangout spot for a fun night with friends or a romantic evening for two.
With a menu curated by Chef Greg Grossman, a three-star talent who has honorable mentions in both the New York Times and Forbes Magazine, the new restaurant and lounge offers a fare lineup that focuses heavily on bringing back familiar favorites and modernizing them to fit society’s current standards and tastes. Take Chef’s twist on Rockefeller oysters, for example, a classic seafood staple that has been reinvented with raw herbs, infused oils and a vodka-dill Champagne mignonette. This shareable dish is one of many elevated bites you can try to start off your meal, in addition to the deviled eggs, with hollandaise mousse and smoked trout roe, or the steak tartare cigars, to name a few.
The main courses are the real show-stoppers at GiGi’s, crafted with ingredients that have been sustainably sourced from local farms and dairies and inspired by the surrounding desert. Some notable dishes include the lobster thermidor pasta, with taglierini pasta, tobiko, cognac brown butter emulsion, Meyer lemon, Fresno chili and herb bread crumbs, or halibut “meunière” en croûte, made with herb and caper vinaigrette, cauliflower almondine gratin, brandied golden raisins and a citrus herb salad. GiGi’s offers a wine menu with a fine selection of reds, whites and rosé, and a cocktail menu that is pending its exciting debut.
