How to Celebrate San Diego Comic-Con

In honor of San Diego Comic-Con (finally) returning for the first time since 2019, these San Diego restaurants are gearing up with themed specials to celebrate and welcome all the visitors the convention brings.

The San Diego Comic-Con is a staple event that fans have dearly missed. The convention will return on July 21 to the San Diego Convention Center for four days of celebrity guest appearances from stars such as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, George R. R. Martin, Bill Nye (plus many more) and everything you love from your favorite shows, games, movies and, of course, comic books.

For those looking to get in on the fun, whether it be by attending the event or not-so-subtly watching your favorite celebs from afar at nearby restaurants, these dining spots are helping you soak up the most of San Diego Comic-Con this year with unique (and delicious) themed specials.

Stranger Things Cocktails

The Deck at Moonshine Flats

Housed in San Diego’s Gaslamp district, The Deck at Moonshine Flats offers an eccentric handcrafted cocktail menu inspired by Netflix’s hit, “Stranger Things,” from Thursday, July 21, to Sunday, July 24. The menu will showcase the Lego Her Eggo, with Jim Bean Whiskey Sour and a mini Eggo waffle garnish, and the Demogorgon, made with Uncle Ed’s Dragon Berry vodka cranberry juice, Triple Sec and a hint of lime. Both sips are $11 and are only available at The Deck at Moonshine Flats. To learn more about The Deck at Moonshine Flats, visit thedecksd.com.

The Blind Burro

Only available from Thursday, July 21, to Sunday, July 24, The Blind Burro will be featuring its own deliciously nerdy cocktails inspired by Disney’s “The Mandalorian,” with a Boba Fett Basil Tatooin-artia, handcrafted with Corralejo Blanco Tequila, Mandala Orange Liqueur, Triple Sec, lime and mango, and the Blueberry Boba, served with an adorable Boba Fett keychain for $22. If you aren’t looking for an alcohol-based drink, The Blind Burro also offers the Yoda Soda, with kiwi puree, lime juice, agave, mint and soda water for $8 (perfect for little ones, too). To learn more about The Blind Burro, visit theblindburro.com.
