Lighthouse Café Unveils New Patio and Happy Hour

Seated along the picturesque Newport Beach harbor on the Balboa Peninsula, Lighthouse Café unveils an expanded patio overlooking the water and a fantastic new happy hour.

With the option of fresh seafood, an incredible brunch, a variety of refreshing cocktails and a new top-notch happy hour, Lighthouse Café promises a memorable dining experience that captures the essence of Newport Beach’s vibrant culinary scene.

When you first walk inside Lighthouse Café, you get the feeling you are dining in a lighthouse made of glass and steel; looking out the windows, you’re presented with 180-degree views of the harbor, mountains and city. It’s the perfect place to watch the boats float by or enjoy the sunset with a cocktail in hand. Diners are now invited to enjoy a taste of coastal paradise in one of 28 additional seats with sleek in-ground heaters that have been added to Lighthouse Café’s outdoor seating.

Lighthouse Café’s new happy hour menu is one of the best we’ve seen. Every bite of the spicy Ahi nachos is better than the next, with coleslaw, jalapeño and Fresno chilies, drizzled with chili aioli over wonton chips. You can also choose from seafood favorites like ceviche and grilled shrimp skewers or shareables like buffalo chicken sliders and taquitos.

The restaurant’s selection of $10 signature cocktails is impressive, featuring a Grey Goose espresso martini, Casamigos spicy mango margarita and a light rum-based Marina Mai-Tai with a float of Goslings Black Seal Rum. If cocktails aren’t your thing, you also have the option of half-off beers on draft and select wines by the glass.

If you like seafood, you’ll love Lighthouse Café’s Three Course Coastal Catch. Choose a soup or salad; type of fish, cooking style and sauce; two sides; and a personal-sized dessert. With options like sea bass, halibut, mahi mahi or salmon, there is truly no wrong choice. Lighthouse Café also recently added two beef offerings: build-your-own skirt steak tacos, served with a trio of sauces, which include blueberry-habanero salsa, avocado sauce and chimichurri, and the gourmet Wagyu beef burger, topped with bourbon-bacon jam, grilled onions and shredded lettuce.

You’d be remiss to pass on dessert. Lighthouse Café is famous for its beignets. These soft doughnuts covered in cream cheese icing are a must for brunch or dinner. As the weather continues to warm up, the ice cream cake is absolutely refreshing. With vanilla and chocolate ice cream, an Oreo cookie crust, espresso whipped cream and roasted almonds, we wouldn’t blame you if you wanted it all to yourself.
