From the creative minds behind San Diego’s Madison on Park comes a new, retro-chic spot, Madi. This fresh dining destination offers vibrant cuisine where playful Mediterranean flavors meet West Coast ingredients.
After opening its door this past August, Madi San Diego has brought a refreshing experience to the Normal Heights neighborhood, serving up an all-day menu featuring breakfast and lunch, mimosas and wine, and pastries and sips from a grab-and-go-style coffee stop. With an all-encompassing menu, Madi is perfect for all visitor types; whether they are looking for a boozy and bubbly brunch or a place to meet a coworker for breakfast, Madi offers an experience to fit everyone’s needs.
The space offers a breath of fresh air in a post-modern-retro vibe, with light wood elements and vibrant pops of color reminiscent of the late 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. The space was carefully designed by award-winning designers, Dave and Anna Sindelar of ARCHISECTS, who created the beautiful sister site, Madison on Park.
Guests can expect Madi San Diego’s menu items to include bites like the Mediterranean Breakfast, with poached eggs, house hummus, grilled pita bread, half avocado, pickled cabbage and a side of tangy cucumber salad; the G.O.A.T., a breakfast sandwich with ham, egg, Swiss, goat cheese, apricot-habanero jam and peppery arugula on Levain bread; or for those with a sweet tooth, the waffle churro stick is a must to try.
In addition to the stellar fare lineup is the sip menu, featuring mimosas that balance bubbles with health benefits, including Black Magic with organic lemon, apple, alkaline water, blood orange agave and activated charcoal or the Blue Dream with spirulina, cold-pressed lemonade and ginger. In addition to the lineup are handcrafted cocktails, craft beer and mocktails made with low A.B.V. spirits.
If you are more of an on-the-go visitor and just need a quick pick-me-up, a stop at the grab-and-go coffee station is perfect for you. The counter makes mornings easy with coffee concoctions from Heartwork Coffee, morning pastries, breakfast sandwiches and more are readily available.
