Market Broiler is not just a dining destination but a champion of sustainable seafood in California. In honor of its 35-year anniversary, Market Broiler invites locals and visitors to soak up the last bit of the season with its Savor the Flavor of Summer menu items.
With seven locations in Southern California and one up north in Fremont, Market Broiler is known for fresh, flavorful seafood that is sourced responsibly to protect marine ecosystems and ingredients grown right here in California. (For example, the Brussels sprouts are grown in Monterey and eggs are gathered in Corona.) In a world where sustainable, locally-sourced food is in demand more than ever, Market Broiler stands out by offering a delicious array of dishes that are as kind to the planet as they are to your palate.
When visiting Market Broiler’s newest location in Torrance at the Del Amo Fashion Center, you encounter a large open space with nautical details and large windows with an incredible amount of light.
Two notable cocktails are the espresso martini, made with Blue Ice Double Espresso vodka and a splash of cream topped with the drink’s signature espresso beans, and the Caramelized Pineapple Margarita, rimmed unexpectedly with cinnamon. Additionally, we would be remiss if we forgot to mention the Mission Bay Mai Tai, a Market Broiler customer favorite.
Look forward to starting with fresh-from-the-oven, San Francisco-style sourdough bread shortly after you sit down. From the Shellfish Bar, we suggest ordering the giant prawn cocktail, which completely lives up to its name. Served with large U10 prawns and housemade cocktail sauce, shrimp cocktail is taken to an entirely new level. The server also suggests the shrimp-and-crab flautas, which are incredibly flavorful and crispy.
As part of the summer menu offerings, Market Broiler rolled out creative combos, which allow you to craft your perfect meal from two proteins, a signature seasoning, and two classic sides. With the option to choose from salmon, halibut, shrimp scampi, charbroiled oysters, steak, chicken, and more, there is truly something for every taste–even the meat-eaters. The Reverence Farms rainbow trout is another new offering that comes from Idaho’s Snake River and is free from genetic engineering, antibiotics, and hormones. It’s even been recognized by the Monterey Bay Aquarium for its sustainability. Both entree options include two sides; you can’t go wrong with the cheese potatoes or the bacon Brussels sprouts.
When it comes to dessert, Market Broiler does not disappoint with a cream cheese-filled butter cake that is everything you want from the classic treat. Served with a large scoop of vanilla ice cream, each bite of the butter cake manages to be the perfect balance of sweet and fluffy with a hint of crisp.
