Q&A Restaurant and Oyster Bar is located on the first floor of The Brick Hotel, a charming self-service 10-room boutique hotel in Downtown Oceanside.

Q&A is the namesake restaurant of Chef Quinnton “Q” Austin, culinary director of Grind and Prosper Hospitality Group, which is known for its unique concepts such as Park 101 in Carlsbad and Coco Maya in San Diego. Chef Austin trained at the Culinary Institute of New Orleans and spent 15 years cooking in Louisiana, so this new concept showcases his experience and love for this cuisine.

Q&A Restaurant is intimate and charming with greenery and a vibrant bar. Here you can sip on handcrafted French Quarter-style cocktails or enjoy a perfectly-paired glass of wine to complement your meal.

As you would expect, Q&A’s menu features an array of oysters from three regions – the Gulf Coast, East Coast and West Coast – that are served charbroiled, raw or on the half shell. You can add on prime steak or crab meat to any of the oysters. One of the more unique preparations is the buffalo blue and bacon, which is a buffalo sauce oyster with blue cheese, chives and diced bacon.

In addition to oysters at Q&A Restaurant, you will find NOLA-inspired appetizers and entrees on the menu. Some classics you would expect that are expertly prepared are the shrimp Creole and grits, crawfish étouffée catfish, uptown gumbo and prawn jambalaya. We also highly recommend the lobster mac and the crawfish garlic wings. This is a place you will want to visit over and over just to try everything on the menu.
