With successful sister locations in the Gaslamp Quarter and Encinitas, Union Kitchen & Tap has opened its third location in Pacific Beach San Diego.

This newest Union Kitchen & Tap location is just blocks from Pacific Beach on Mission and Garnet. The 6,000-sq.-ft. restaurant offers a spacious layout with a lounge-like atmosphere with indoor and outdoor dining options, a lively main bar with multiple TV’s for sports enthusiasts to catch all the big games, and a dog-friendly patio – it even has a special dog menu.

The menu at Union Kitchen & Tap is an elevated and contemporary take on timeless American classics. Starting with the shared plates, you can see how Executive Chef Taylor Boudreaux has taken classic dishes and given them a refined twist. The Union Wings feature a Sriracha-maple glaze; the loaded fries are topped with beer-braised short rib, aged cheddar cheese and homemade gravy; and the homemade skillet cornbread is made with jalapeno, aged white cheddar, burnt honey and maple butter and chives.

Dinner entree highlights at Union Kitchen & Tap include steak frites, pan-seared salmon, shrimp and grits, spring lamb ragu and our personal favorite – The Executive Burger. This inventive handheld entree features an 8-oz. Brandt Beef patty, Saint Andre triple cream brie, smoked cowboy bacon, black garlic aioli, apple chutney, butter lettuce, heirloom tomato and house-made pickles. The combination of flavors is a bold, balanced and explosive symphony that places it amongst the best burgers in town.

Union Kitchen & Tap’s weekend brunch, served every Saturday and Sunday starting at 10 a.m., features bottomless mimosas. Enjoy steak and eggs, chilaquiles, avocado toast and crab cake eggs benedict, to name a few classic breakfast dishes from the brunch menu. Molly’s Sticky Bun with fresh brioche and pecans is a great sharable for the table, or can even be ordered as a sweet entree.

Union Kitchen & Tap’s Pacific Beach beverage program boasts a variety of draft and canned beers, wines and craft cocktails. Highlights include the Purple Haze, crafted with Ilegal Mezcal, ginger liqueur, prickly pear, lime and sage; California Soul, featuring Tito’s, lavender, coconut, guava, agave and lemon; Good Vibrations, made with freshly-juiced cucumber, grapefruit, lime, ginge, and your choice of spirit; and 2 Kool 2 Be 4-Gotten, with blackberry-infused Bulleit Bourbon, cider, lemon and cinnamon. Several of these cocktails are also available in non-alcoholic versions.

Union Kitchen & Tap Pacific Beach is open Tuesday to Friday starting at 4 p.m. for dinner; and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for brunch and 2 to 10 p.m. for dinner. The bar remains open every night until 2 a.m. for cocktails, beer and wine only. Additional weekly programming includes $1.25 oysters and $5 shaken martinis from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays; half-priced wines by the glass and bottle on Wednesdays from 4 to 8 p.m.; live music on Thursdays; and a DJ on Fridays. Union Kitchen & Tap Pacific Beach is closed on Mondays.
