The NAACP has hosted the North San Diego County Juneteenth for over 55 years, and highlights of this year’s event promote the importance of education, contributions and achievement. June 15: Juneteenth San Francisco Freedom Celebration
San Francisco
From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., more than 10,000 are expected to be in attendance at the Juneteenth San Francisco Freedom Celebration in the historic Fillmore District. The Freedom Celebration will span six city blocks featuring dozens of retail and food vendors, a car show, a fashion show, free carnival rides and games, a free block party and concert, plus much more.

From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sonoma County’s 54th-annual Juneteenth festival will offer kids’ activities, food, basketball, arts and crafts, a gospel choir, a performance by Pride & Joy and much more. The California Juneteenth event takes place at Martin Luther King Jr. Park.
