El Pueblo Inn in Sonoma

Right on the corner of Sonoma Highway and Napa Street, you’ll find a piece of Sonoma’s history. El Pueblo Inn, with a sign illuminating at dusk and decorated by green vines and luscious trees, is a Tuscan-style inn that has been serving guests since 1959.

The family-owned property offers oenophiles and guests a spacious place to rest after a day of wine tasting and exploring Northern California’s vast wine country.

El Pueblo Inn is just as its owners describe it: “a serene, romantic hotel with the charm and ambience of a wine country cottage.” The property’s rooms surround an interior garden accented by a beautiful fountain providing soft and soothing atmospheric sounds all alongside of an outdoor pool and hot tub.

Though such precious charm throughout, the inn does not lack square footage. One would be shocked at how spacious the rooms are. Each one is decorated with adobe-style décor and wooden and brick accents. If you’re looking to have a bigger slice of luxury, the romantic California or Sonoma rooms are complete with private patios or balconies overlooking the courtyard, and these rooms have DVD players, a pullout couch and rooms featuring fireplaces and reclining chairs. The rooms allow guests to truly check in to a place that feels like home, as opposed to a hotel.

Down the street from Sonoma Plaza, El Pueblo Inn is surrounded by iconic Sonoma restaurants and bars, as well as local spaces and retail shops. Looking for a bite to eat or a place to pass the time? Touch base with the front office staff, all incredibly knowledgeable and prepared with maps to help you find a place to your liking and share great recommendations of local favorites to visit.

Something that really gives El Pueblo Inn that homey and welcoming feeling is that each morning there is continental breakfast with a wide variety of pastries, breads, juices, cereals but, most importantly, homemade quiches and fresh hard boiled eggs from Sonoma’s local farms. A touch you won’t find at any chain hotel.

On any given day, like when we visited, you may find guests celebrating as they prepare for their wedding days, birthdays, family reunions or any other group of people who decided to escape the hustle and bustle of life to enjoy this beautiful piece of Sonoma’s history.
