Halloween Events and Attractions at California Theme Parks

Whether you’re seeking a bone-chilling, blood-curdling wicked-good time or a not-so-freaky family outing, these six California theme parks are delivering the fun this Halloween season.

On select days throughout October, LEGOLAND California Resort in Carlsbad welcomes all families to Halloween in Miniland. Feast your eyes on Halloween-themed outdoor retail, enjoy dining experiences every weekend this month and say “hi” during distanced character meet-and-greets, among other not-so-spooky activities, now through Halloween. Plus, guests are invited to come dressed in costume! Tickets and reservations are required.

On select nights now through Halloween, grab your bravest pals and get ready to scream during Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood. Make your way through terrifying mazes, come face-to-face with spooky creatures, enjoy live entertainment and more during this Halloween holiday tradition. Tickets start at $69.

Knott’s Scary Farm, taking space at Southern California’s Knott’s Berry Farm through Oct. 31, is the area’s largest Halloween event. The fully transformed theme park hosts haunted mazes and attractions, shows and more than 1,000 creepy creatures at every corner. Knott’s Scary Farm is not recommended for children under 13. Tickets start at $45 when purchased online.

Though all tickets to the Oogie Boogie Bash at Disney California Adventure Park are currently sold out, there is still plenty of fun to be had at both Disneyland parks. Enjoy hand-carved pumpkins along Main Street, U.S.A, frightfully delicious treats like pumpkin spice churros and mummified marshmallows, characters in costume and the 20th anniversary of the Haunted Mansion, among other can’t-miss kid-friendly attractions. Daily tickets start at $104.

Halloween Haunt at California’s Great America marks the Bay Area’s premier Halloween event. With monsters at every turn, scary mazes, circus acts, live music and event a voodoo dance party, there are plenty of scares up Great America’s sleeve. Tickets start at $34.

Join in the fun–if you dare–at Fright Fest at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia. Step into The Deadzone with cyberpunk zombies, witness death-defying tricks, take in spooktacular shows and experience your favorite rides (with the lights off!) now through Oct. 31. Tickets start at $24.99.
