Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel

Hilton San Diego Bayfront, a Hilton collection hotel, brings each guest a luxury waterfront oasis that provides the ability to relax in their room with a view, dine with a view and even swim with a view. The central location helps travelers get the most of San Diego, without having to venture too far from their room.

Each suite in the 30-story hotel offers its guests unforgettable views. The higher you go (we were on the 26th floor), the better the view. You can see Petco Park, Downtown San Diego’s cityscapes and even past all of Coronado Island from select spaces (some suites feature a window sill large enough for lounging and taking the views in). All rooms in the hotel have been recently renovated, giving each space new oversized windows, updated amenities and a modern, coastal-inspired design. Each space houses a 55-inch HD flatscreen, a connected room and lush linens and toiletries. A suite will amp up your stay with separate living spaces, a full dining area and upgraded amenities. Each room is pet-friendly, and there is a 3D model of each suite online to help guests select the room that is right for their vacation style.

The Hilton San Diego Bayfront hotel is the go-to spot for travelers looking to get the most out of San Diego. The hotel is located in the center of all of the city’s action and is in close quarters to hotspots like Legoland, the San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld and much more. The San Diego Convention Center and Petco Park are within walking distance, as well as Gaslamp Quarter, home to luxury shopping destinations, fine dining spots and nightlife fun. The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park is another local favorite, and currently has tickets to the hit musical, “Chicago,” on sale now.

If you are looking to venture out while staying close to the hotel, you can rent a boat, kayak or jet ski and spend a day out on the waters with the help of Seaforth Boat Rentals. Or visit the Bayfront sidewalk located just outside the hotel’s entrance and follow the trail to find yourself at Seaport Village, a cozy shopping center with spots for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

To keep your vacation on-site, the hotel offers an abundance of things to do to keep guests busy. Rejuvenate at eforea spa, a relaxing experience that focuses on mind and body wellness. Each treatment is customizable to suit each guest’s needs and provides services like an in-depth facial or manicure. Reserve a spot at the pool, and enjoy a day of swimming, waterslides, lounging under an umbrella or taking in the oceanic views on the sun deck. The reservation-only element allows for a more private, intimate experience for guests.

The fare at the hotel begins on the lowest floor, where a delicious, locally-owned frozen yogurt shop, Sweet Things (featuring a self-serve froyo-style bar), is available, in addition to a Starbucks coffee shop open to guests Thursday through Saturday. The On the Rocks Food Truck is housed outside in the Promenade Plaza, offering handcrafted cocktails, American-style burgers, authentic tacos and ice-cold brews.

Be sure to check out the hotel’s main dining destination, Odysea, where guests can embark on a “liquid adventure” with handcrafted libations like the Odysea Mule, shaken with Tito’s vodka, St.Germain, lime, Angostura bitters and ginger beer, or if you prefer your drinks with a kick, we highly recommend the Spicy Paloma mixed with house-infused jalapeno tequila, grapefruit juice, a splash of lime and agave. In addition to its signature cocktails, Odysea offers locally inspired dishes, like the chef specialty surf and turf, complete with an 8-oz. filet mignon, pesto jumbo shrimp, roasted garlic whipped potato and seasonal veggies or the pan-seared sustainable salmon with tomatoes, capers and chickpeas. A new dining concept is set to open later this fall.
