JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE Debuts Redesign

With a fresh property-wide design update, JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE is ready to welcome guests to some seriously cool digs. Alongside the design refresh, the resort also launches the return of outdoor dining and new rooftop programming.

JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE’s extensive redesign–led by Santa Monica-based hospitality design firm, Hirsch-Bedner Associates (HBA)–touches on the guestrooms, corridors, the lobby atrium, Glance Lobby Bar and more. “This hotel is an icon of Downtown Los Angeles,” says Robert MacDonald, the project’s key designer at HBA. “We wanted to embrace the energy of that metropolitan environment, while also reflecting the forward-movement of an evolving city. California is also famous for its natural light, from soft morning glows to legendary sunsets, and that’s incorporated into the design, as well. Together, these informed our themes of motion, energy, and light.”

The updated guestrooms feature rich, warm colors blended with soothing neutral tones alongside pops of color and a mix of fabrics and texture, like leathers and frosted acrylics. The lobby atrium and Glance Lobby Bar highlight all-new flooring and furnishings in soft gray and taupe tones, resulting in an inviting spot to gather while traveling.

The hotel’s new Savoca restaurant is now open for outdoor dining. The “Californian trattoria” features custom-built dining cottages with heating, electric candles, cozy décor and top-notch ventilation. The menu is inspired by Chef Nathaniel Marcus’ time cooking in the Savoca region of Sicily, as well as the bounty of fresh, seasonal produce available in California. Dinner reservations are available via Open Table. (Brunch will debut soon.)

The hotel’s popular Poolside Dinner & A Movie series has returned for spring. Guests can enjoy a two-course, al fresco meal ($45) accompanied by screenings of favorite films, all while taking in the picture-perfect Downtown Los Angeles skyline. The weekly series will take place on the fourth floor of the hotel, every Friday and Saturday evening. Reservations can be made via Eventbrite.

For a little pampering in paradise, 8,000-sq.-ft. The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Los Angeles is also now open and available to JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. Live guests and visitors. Highlights include the spa’s popular CBD Massage, which incorporates up to five activated hemp-based products in this relaxing full-body massage (50 minutes, $250), in addition to a variety of manicure and pedicure services starting at $50.
