San Diego’s historic Hotel Del Coronado has partnered with fine-art photographer Gray Malin to create a timeless suite that will transport guests to the 1960’s.
A unique new suite has joined the collection of luxe guest rooms at the historic Hotel Del Coronado: The Gray Malin Oceanfront Suite. The one-of-a-kind space was created in collaboration with fine-art photographer Gray Malin and features designs and photography from Malin himself.
Inspired by timeless days spent at the iconic hotel, Malin curated The Gray Malin at Hotel Del Coronado photo series to evoke the resort’s historic days as the backdrop to many beachside vacations. The unique collection transports viewers to the coastal elegance of the destination’s yesteryears and aims to celebrate its history and Victorian design.
The Gray Malin Oceanfront Suite was then created to pay homage to Malin’s print series and features a 1960’s, beach glam-inspired design. The interior is adorned with wood surfboards, pastel ottomans, playful throw pillows and whimsical beach prints from Malin’s collection to complement the coastal palette and ocean views. An album of the photographer’s photos from the series can be found on the coffee table or on decorative trays.
“It has been so exciting to see the Gray Malin Suite at Hotel Del Coronado come to fruition after years of planning,” says Malin, in a press release. “The hotel’s iconic history and coastal charm was the perfect backdrop for my signature photography and with the exclusive suite, guests will be able to immerse themselves into the timeless and playful space. I hope guests will feel inspired to capture their own memories and experiences at The Del, just as I have done with my art.”
The suite is available for stays through Dec. 31. Purchase Gray Malin’s prints from the series here. For more information, visit hoteldel.com.
