Winter Activities in California

Big Bear Mountain Resort

Big Bear Lake

Coming in at 8,200 feet high, the Big Bear Mountain Resort is the greatest spot for snow recreation in Southern California. The resort is famous in the states and has hosted Red Bull, GoPro and The North Face events. It offers 240 acres of terrain to shred, with 31 trails and 14 chairlifts to help you get around. Though a hotspot for the pros, Big Bear Mountain Resort offers skiing and snowboarding fun for all levels and has broken down percentages to help new visitors understand the difficulty levels of each trail: 10 percent of the park for first-timers, 25 percent for beginners, 40 percent for intermediate guests and 25 percent for advanced. Unlike other snow destinations, Big Bear features an on-site locker building where you can store your gear for the entire season—no more carrying everything around with you all day. The mountain resort is slated to open in early November, with season passes starting at $349. To learn more about Big Bear Mountain, visit bigbearmountainresort.com
