Carlsbad 5000

The Carlsbad 5000, presented by National University, on April 7, is a full day of road racing on the seaside streets of Carlsbad, California. This event features individual 5K races for all ages & abilities, including Men’s & Women’s Masters Divisions (40 and older), Men’s & Women’s Open Divisions (39 and under), the Non-Competitive People’s Race (joggers and walkers of all ages) and the world’s fastest Elites.

This iconic road race features nearly two miles along the Pacific coastline, overlooking the sand and surf of the Carlsbad beaches. This flat and fast course kicks off on the downtown seaside streets, winds through palm trees along Carlsbad Blvd, and ends with an exciting, spectator-friendly finish in the heart of Carlsbad Village.

Included with registration are two Pizza Port Beers (21-plus), a premium race shirt, an official finisher medal, race photos, results, a 21-plus beer garden with live music and entertainment, and a health & fitness expo featuring sponsors, exhibitors, and elite athlete Q&A with Meb.

The 5k (ages 7-plus) costs $59, the Junior Carlsbad mile and half mile costs $34 (ages 4 to 12), and the All Day 20k costs $119 (ages 7-plus).
