Third Annual WILDCOAST Benefit Dinner

Held on Sunday, April 21 at 6 p.m., Herb & Sea in Encinitas invites guests to join them for the 3rd Annual WILDCOAST Benefit Dinner, a family-style seafood soiree on their Moonlight Deck.

A fun and interactive meal, the evening promises a dinner experience like no other where a giant fish will be placed on a bed of hot coals, covered with seaweed and burlap, and buried in the sand to roast inside a salt shell – unveiled and served during dinner. The evening will include bites from the raw bar, including ceviche, oysters and white fish toast and freshly baked focaccia. Sides like local greens salad with embered beets and Dutch oven-roasted potatoes with leeks, tomatoes and onions accompany the star of the show – salt-baked fish with lemon, garlic, thyme and parsley. End the evening with dessert of house-made doughnuts with fish marrow chocolate sauce and sea salt. Tickets include food, alcohol, gratuity and tax.

The dinner is a part of Herb & Sea’s long term partnership with WILDCOAST. For the past two years, Herb & Sea has offered their rotating ‘Fresh Catch’ dish – the profits from this dish go to international non-profit WILDCOAST, which has an impressive resume of conservation accomplishments such as protecting 500,000-plus acres of underwater parks off the coast of California from marine poachers, preserving gray whale breeding and birthing lagoons in Baja, and preventing 200,000 pounds of trash at the US/Mexico border from entering the Pacific Ocean, just to name a few. With their dining room located mere steps from one of San Diego’s most iconic beaches and a menu filled with seafood, Herb & Sea from the Puffer Malarkey Collective, has a vested interest in preserving coastlines and marine ecosystems.

Tickets can be secured via Opentable, priced at $120 per person. All ticket profits will be donated to coastal conservation non-profit organization, WILDCOAST. All tables will be seated communally.
