The Meritage Resort and Spa in Napa Valley recently revealed the results of a $25-million renovation aimed to redefine luxury and comfort in the heart of California’s famed wine country. The extensive project included the transformation of 322 existing rooms, the addition of luxurious new guest spaces and significant enhancements to the resort’s amenities.
With these renovations, The Meritage has expanded its offerings to include a revamped lobby and bar area, updated ballrooms and refreshed meeting spaces. A chic bowling lounge, a redesigned cafe and a grab-and-go section have been introduced, alongside the debut of a premier steakhouse and a unique Champagne lounge. The property’s scenic charm is further enriched by a new chef’s garden in the adjacent vineyard, a picturesque dining terrace for outdoor meals among the vines and an innovative chicken coop.
Drawing inspiration from the Mission-style architecture that typifies modern vineyards, the redesigned resort covers 35 acres, featuring nine acres of active vineyards. The resort is renowned as a leading destination for experiencing the essence of Napa, now offering guests an inviting gateway to explore the region’s vinicultural delights.

The resort has a variety of on-site attractions, including multiple tasting rooms, a locally sourced artisanal market and a sophisticated food and wine center within an eclectic village setting. Guests can enjoy six dining options, two serene pools, wellness centers and the expansive Spa Terra within an Estate Cave beneath the Trinitas vineyard. The resort also offers an array of venue spaces and a calendar of classes, concerts and events.
The guest rooms at The Meritage have been split into two new categories, each reflecting the region’s warmth and natural beauty. The 157 Meritage rooms feature a modern vineyard farmhouse aesthetic with luxurious touches, while the 165 Bordeaux rooms pay homage to the original Mission-style architecture, offering a cozy, minimalist elegance. Both room types have top-tier amenities and design elements, including new carpeting, luxurious linens and custom finishings.
Dining at the resort is a highlight, with the addition of the new Ember Steakhouse, Sora Napa and Crush Lounge. At Ember, Chef Cary Roy presents a menu designed to foster connections over excellent cuts of meat and fine wines. Sora Napa, the latest gem in the property’s food and wine village, caters to wine enthusiasts, offering a tasting lounge experience focused on sparkling wines, Champagnes and inventive cocktails through curated flights. Crush Lounge is The Meritage’s onsite lounge and bowling alley. The recently renovated space offers a sexy, modern vibe with indulgent boozy milkshakes topped with an entire slice of cake.
