With its grand debut set for 2023, Blanco Cocina + Cantina is bringing vibrant Sonoran-style fare, handcrafted margaritas and breezy patio vibes to Coronado Island. The new dining concept stems from renowned restaurateur and local, Sam Fox.
Settled on the corner of Orange and B Avenue, next to its sister restaurant, The Henry, Blanco Cocina + Cantina will offer guests and locals alike a place to kick back and relax in a high-energy setting. The spot’s lineup will feature shareable items like Mexican pizza, mains like chimichangas with short rib machaca or braised chicken, and other showstoppers like the tiger shrimp fajitas or Sonoran-style street corn.
Nothing goes better with spicy bites than an even spicier jalapeno-and-pineapple margarita with chile verde liquor and habanero bitters or the bright, frozen Paloma with blood orange, grapefruit and Blanco tequila. If you aren’t feeling up to the cocktails, a lineup of wine, cervesas and sangrias will also be available.
“Blanco and Coronado are made for one another. They both offer something special that really draws people in,” says Fox, founder of Fox Restaurant Concepts. “Blanco’s menu includes all my favorite Mexican dishes and an incredible beverage menu full of really good margaritas. It’s like taking a vacation in your neighborhood.”
