Louisiana Purchase San Diego Restaurant

From Bayou Bites to Voodoo Potions, Louisiana Purchase – North Park’s French Quarter-inspired dining experience – has something to offer for the whole crew.

Conveniently located on Louisiana Street in San Diego’s North Park neighborhood, Louisiana Purchase debuted in March 2019 as the first true New Orleans dining experience in the area. The South and Southern California have distinct variations in culture, flavor and seasoning, but what they can agree on is quality and craftsmanship – the two words used to describe Executive Chef Quinnton Austin’s masterpieces time and time again.

As a NOLA native and former attendee of the New Orleans Culinary Institute, Chef Austin is an expert in infusing The Big Easy to the forever-evolving menu at Louisiana Purchase. Through bold flavors and intentional design of each dish, he does just that – bringing the big and the easy.

While the cuisine and craft cocktails pull in foodies and restaurant connoisseurs nationwide, it’s the full French Quarter experience that makes this the ideal night out for the whole crew. From the marble bar and the neon lights to the open patio concept encapsulated by greenery, clientele are transported to a modern, yet traditional take on a New Orleans restaurant.

Once seated, the spirits start flowing from the carefully curated list of Voodoo Potions – Chef Austin’s classic cocktails with an elevated twist. One can choose their own adventure with the Praline Old Fashioned, Appletini or the famed Hurricane, featuring a house rum blend, house fassionola, almond orgeat, fresh citrus and burlesque bitters.

The Bayou Bites come in all shapes, sizes and seasonal ingredients. In true east-of-the-Mississippi fashion, Chef Austin and his team have constituted the ultimate selection of Southern food. From the gator bites and crawfish garlic-parmesan wings to the shrimp and grits and Uptown Kitchen Sink Gumbo, the patio weather is the only reality check as to what city guests are dining in.

If, and the keyword is “if,” one has room for dessert, Chef Austin pays homage to the NOLA sweet staples: beignets and an ooey gooey yellow cake with banana foster and vanilla ice cream.
