A shop that specializes in açaí bowls with two locations–one in Jordan Park and one in the SOMA district of San Francisco–Palmetto shows that superfoods taste as rich as the colors they hold.
The make-your-own acai bowl business is doing so well at sharing the good news of superfood, it’s expanding and opening a third storefront in San Francisco’s Marina District this month, with plans to open two more this year: one in Burlingame in the summer, and the other in Milpitas come fall. All of this success and expansion is happening after only opening the doors to its first location in 2019.
San Francisco natives Charles and Hessam, along with their friends Amanda and Thaís, started the made-to-order fresh Brazilian açaí bowl shop together. They decided to create a brand that focuses on pure Brazilian açaí, complemented with other superfoods and essential fruits.
They say at Palmetto, the mission is to showcase real açaí and promote healthy eating by making your own delicious superfoods bowl.
When it comes to the menu, there are three signature bowls, a breakfast bowl and a post-workout bowl. Customers can also order signature smoothies or build their own made-to-order bowl.
Base ingredients include, but are not limited to, Brazilian acai, chia pudding (blue butterfly pea flower), cinnamon steel cut oats, coconut beach, matcha, pitaya and tropical spirulina.
Customers can choose among banana, blueberry, kiwis, mangos, pineapple and strawberries to top their bowls, with adornments including almond butter, apple honey (vegan), bee pollen, blue agave, cacao nibs, cacao powder, chia seeds, chocout, flax seeds, goji berries, match powder, mulberries and more to craft the ultimate feel-good bowl.
Through the pandemic, Palmetto storefronts are still open; pick up bowls to-go, or get them delivered via DoorDash.⠀
