Fab Dads: California

Richard Lanaud

Richard Lanaud has had quite the journey—through life and fatherhood. As a Bay Area transplant by way of Bora Bora, French Polynesia, Lanaud made his way to the Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley in October 2015 as the assistant director of Food and Beverage. He’s since moved up to role of hotel manager—and when he’s not servicing the needs of the Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley, he enjoys discovering new California wines and traveling to beautiful, new places with his wife and kiddos.

What would you say has been the most rewarding part of being a father? The unconditional love my two kids give me. They are so caring and loving and show it in their unique ways.

The biggest thing you’ve learned from your children is: My kids are still on the young side, so I’m learning every day. I’m learning how to be patient. I hope that they’ve learned that from me too!

Best piece of advice you’ve received or given regarding fatherhood? It may sound cliché, but truly to enjoy every minute. Kids grow very fast, and I have to remember to slow down and enjoy time with them too.
