5 Can’t-Miss California Pride Events

In celebration of Pride Month (and well into July!), here are five parades and parties–and even an epic after-hours theme park experience–that are not to be missed.

June 12: 52nd Annual LA Pride

Cheer on the procession along Hollywood Boulevard on Sunday, June 12, for the 52nd Annual LA Pride (pictured). More than 130 contingents of marchers, performers, nonprofits and celebrities (and 25,000 LGBTQ+ friends and neighbors!) are slated to participate in the annual event. Prior to the parade, Christina Aguilera will headline LA Pride in the Park, a music event with two stages, sponsor activations, exhibitors and food and drink at Los Angeles State Historic Park (1 p.m. to 11 a.m. on June 11). June 24: Pride is Universal 2022

From 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. on June 24, the epic after-hours Pride is Universal party is back at Universal Studios Hollywood. Pride is Universal ticket-holders can begin entering the park at 4 p.m. with a general admission ticket, or at 2 p.m. with a VIP ticket, and enjoy Universal Studios with the regular guests during public operating hours. When the park closes, it will offer a Pride-only, after-hours theme park experience with DJs, drag shows and, of course, rides! A limited number of tickets are available for $99 each here.

June 25 and June 26: 52nd Annual San Francisco Pride Parade and Celebration

The two-day San Francisco Pride Parade and Celebration is scheduled from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, at Civic Center Plaza and the surrounding neighborhood. On Sunday, June 26. at 10:30 a.m., the parade will weave through the heart of Downtown San Francisco. Martha Wash will headline the celebration while actor Sherry Cola (“Good Trouble”) and “Jeopardy” champion Amy Schneider act as Celebrity Grand Marshals. July 16: San Diego Pride Parade

Attracting more than 250,000 supporters of the LGBTQ+ community, join in the San Diego Pride Parade, the largest single-day civic event in the region, on Saturday, July 16, at 10 a.m. The parade begins at the Hillcrest Pride Flag at University Avenue and Normal Street and ends at Laurel Street, where you’ll find the entrance to the Pride Festival. July 16 to July 17: San Diego Pride Festival

Enjoy the city’s biggest celebration, complete with live entertainment from more than 100 entertainers on four stages, during the San Diego Pride Festival at Balboa Park from July 16 to July 17.
