Greens Chef Series: A Global Celebration of Vegetables

In collaboration with six Bay Area chefs, Executive Chef Katie Reicher of Greens Restaurant in San Francisco will offer a unique dining experience this summer with the inaugural Greens Chef Series: A Global Celebration of Vegetables.

Greens Restaurant, a famed vegetarian restaurant situated within the historic Fort Mason Center in San Francisco, along with Executive Chef Katie Reicher, will celebrate nature’s bounty and the wholesome goodness of farm-to-table ingredients with Greens Chef Series: A Global Celebration of Vegetables.

Running from April to September, this series will see six esteemed Bay Area chefs collaborating with Chef Reicher in the Greens kitchen to present a series of collaborative dinners. These dinners will feature four-course vegetarian tasting menus, showcasing each guest chef’s culinary prowess as they utilize hyper-seasonal local produce.

Greens Restaurant initiated its first guest chef series in 2019 to commemorate the restaurant’s 40th anniversary, aiming to celebrate vegetables and foster deeper connections within the San Francisco community. Following the challenges of the pandemic in 2022, Chef Reicher revived the program with the Summer Guest Chef Series, offering a means to reconnect after a period of uncertainty and isolation. Since then, over a dozen local chefs and makers have joined Greens to celebrate vegetables and community.

“Celebrating global cultures through the diversity of vegetables is one of our central missions at Greens, and we’re so excited to welcome six local chefs to our kitchen to showcase the array of culinary offerings throughout San Francisco,” says Chef Reicher, in a press release. “It’s an honor to collaborate with these talented individuals, and I look forward to sharing our unique creations through these special dining experiences.”

Each ticketed dinner in the Greens Chef Series will spotlight dishes co-created by the guest chef and Chef Reicher, showcasing their unique culinary styles through a vegetarian lens. The four-course dining experience will include a hors d’oeuvre, appetizer, entree and dessert, amuse-bouche and mignardise. Additionally, each chef will select a charity partner, with a portion of the proceeds from their dinner directly benefiting the chosen organization.
