Day of the Kabuli Pulao (3)

SHOR Bazaar and Khan Saab Welcome Ramadan and Nowruz

Khan Saab Desi Craft Kitchen and SHOR Bazaar restaurants are welcoming guests seeking to observe Ramadan and Nowruz in California.

The head of Khan Saab Desi Craft Kitchen and the newly opened SHOR Bazaar is Executive Chef Imran “Ali” Mookhi, a culinary visionary on a mission to redefine the presentation of Desi cuisine in the Western culinary landscape.

Both restaurants have earned accolades for their refined, chef-driven interpretations of traditional dishes from India, Pakistan and Afghanistan, offering guests an elevated halal dining experience that pays homage to the rich cultural heritage of the Desi region.

Throughout March, Khan Saab and SHOR Bazaar welcome those observing Ramadan, a period of fasting, prayer, reflection and community bonding. From March 9 to April 10, guests can break their fast with a complimentary spread of dates, fruit and rose water at sundown, embracing the spirit of iftar in an atmosphere of culinary excellence and cultural appreciation.

Meanwhile, as the Persian New Year Nowruz dawns upon us, Khan Saab prepares to usher in the festivities with a special celebration on March 19 from 4  to 10 p.m. Guests can indulge in a signature menu curated for the occasion, featuring dishes such as Chapli Kabob, Aubergine and The Dance of Kabuli Pulao (featured image), each embodying the essence of renewal, rebirth and the triumph of light over darkness that defines Nowruz.

Whether located in Los Angeles or Orange County, these restaurants welcome all who wish to partake in these cherished traditions. For those seeking further insights into the culinary journey offered, Chef Ali and his team are readily available to provide guidance and commentary on their mission to honor and support guests observing these holidays.
