Founder at Jameson Animal Rescue Ranch

Monica Stevens

Jameson Humane was founded with a simple purpose: to help create a kinder and more compassionate world through the fostering of human and animal welfare, as well as the protection of the greater environment. Driven by education, prevention and intervention, the Jameson Humane Animal Rescue Ranch continues to inspire meaningful change in animal welfare not only throughout the Napa Valley, but also the greater world.

What motivates you to pursue this kind of philanthropy? I am consistently motivated knowing that we – Jameson Humane’s donors, staff, board of directors and volunteers – impact and effect change for animals and their humans through our ongoing education and vital programs, EVERY DAY. This was the motivation for founding Jameson Humane in 2014.

You’re an inspiration to so many — who has most inspired you? Animal advocate leader, Jane Goodall, and Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Best advice for someone looking to give back and get involved in their community: Seek out a nonprofit that resonates with your interests and convictions. Begin by volunteering and if inclined, seek a higher impact volunteer position such as with the Board of Directors. If you would like to contribute financially to a nonprofit, consider meeting with the president or development officer of the organization to find out their greatest need, and/or consider them in your will/estate.

What impact do you most hope to leave on the world? Jameson Humane lives on in perpetuity, recognized globally for its great work and educating the next generation of humans about the importance of treating all creatures – humans and animals –  with the same kindness, respect, and dignity.
