First job: Ride operator at Knott’s Berry Farm
Favorite ways to spend your free time in CA: The days off are set aside to spend time with family. Our children, Pryanka (12), Simran (8) and Arman (6), keep me and my wife very busy with their various passions.
Your biggest accomplishment and why: There are many, but the most important is having a family that supports one another through the ups and downs.
The biggest obstacle you overcame: When I was 11 years old, my parents and I moved to the United States. The most difficult challenge I faced was not understanding English or the culture. To catch up and overcome the language barrier, I had to work harder than everyone else my age.
Someone who inspires you and why: I aspire to be like my father. My father is the most hardworking and committed individual I’ve ever met. He worked three jobs at one point to keep the family together. My father’s hard work and commitment helped us in reaching the next level and beyond.
Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Stay motivated, have an open mind and never pass up a chance to learn something new. It may not be useful right now, but it will serve as a resource on which you may rely in the future.
Favorite quote: “Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.” —Pelé
Something someone would be surprised to learn about you: I am fluent in three and a quarter languages: English, Punjabi, Hindi and Spanish.
What makes someone fabulous: Their uniqueness and individual personality.
