AnniVenti La Trattoria

Like father like sons, the Gagliano brothers followed in their dad’s footsteps of curating an exquisite Italian dining experience known as AnniVenti La Trattoria, now open in San Diego’s East County.

Emanuele, Danilo and Francesco Gagliano grew up in Palmero, Italy, but more specifically at the original AnniVenti La Trattoria – an ice cream parlor that Andrea, the trio’s father, converted into the family’s first restaurant in the 80’s. From clearing tables and hosting guests to serving loyal patrons and general management, the Gagliano boys learned the ins and outs of a successful business at a young age. By 2022, all three brothers had made the move to San Diego with the vision of turning an Italian dream into an American one.

Within 25 days of securing a location in Lemon Grove, the Gaglianos opened the doors to the newest 5,000-sq.-ft. venture in March 2023: AnniVenti La Trattoria. Keeping the namesake of their father’s pride and joy was just as important to them as taking equal proprietorship in the business: Emanuele as manager, Danilo as house chef, and Francesco as lead server.

Adorned with string lights on the outdoor patio and dressed for a fine dining experience indoors, AnniVenti La Trattoria embodies an ambiance fit for the ultimate date night or girls’ night out. Perfect for either outing, AnniVenti La Trattoria also hosts Wine Wednesdays, from 4 p.m. to closing. In addition to pairing recommendations with the red and white pours, exclusive Wine Wednesday deals are on the table for full bottle purchases.

Between the expansive selection of imported wines and the curated craft cocktail list, the drinks aren’t the only staple on the table before the main entrée. Ordering the Formaggi e Salumi for the table is a must. With a Gagliano family take on the traditional charcuterie board, this appetizer boasts the chef’s selection of imported Italian meats and cheeses, garnished with mixed berries and candied walnuts.

The open-concept kitchen allows for wandering eyes to see the magic unfold. For the main event, patrons can indulge in wood-fired pizzas or house-made pasta dishes, like the Spaghetti Vongole E Pistacchio, a classic spaghetti pasta tossed in white wine garlic sauce and pesto di pistachio, decorated with clams.
