Press & Moka Coffeehouse

If you’re looking for a place to enjoy a great cup of coffee and stay a while, look no further than Press & Moka Coffeehouse in the Irvine Business Complex.

Located adjacent to the Airport Tower building on Von Karman Avenue, Press & Moka is nestled among highrises to bring a taste of European life to Irvine. The family behind Orange County establishments Bistango and Bayside Restaurant were inspired by life growing up in France. To make their offerings as authentic as possible, they partnered with Italy’s oldest roastery, Caffè Vergnano, to create a unique menu of coffee drinks and specialty coffee roasts. Grab a bite to eat and go, or order one of the European-style salads, sandwiches or paninis and enjoy the beautiful California weather.

Whether you need a coffee and pastry on your way to work or want to meet a friend for coffee on the weekend, Press & Moka will take care of you. While you’re able to sit inside to get your work done using the free high-speed WiFi, it will be hard to resist the large variety of outdoor seating options on a gorgeous day. We sat on plush couches, while others were sitting at tables with plenty of room for games. The coffeehouse has a putting green to play on too! Best of all, Press & Moka is extremely dog friendly; our dogs even enjoyed their own puppuccino.

Anyone who thinks coffee is just coffee hasn’t been to Press & Moka. Choose from classic drinks like espresso and macchiato, iced Glacéccino drinks, tea and Italian indulgences. We tried a Lavender Latte Glacé, which is fresh, light and perfect for spring. The coffeehouse is able to add many different flavors into its basic drinks and is happy to work with you and what you’re craving. We also couldn’t resist trying one of the Italian indulgences, the Creamychino, which is an ultra-creamy blended espresso.

While you’re waiting to order, you will be greeted by an expansive display case of pastries. Take your pick of almond, butter and chocolate croissants, bagels, banana bread, cookies and plain and nutella-filled beignets that were brought in to celebrate the shop’s recent one-year anniversary. We tried the beignets and highly doubt you’ll be able to eat just one.

The sandwiches and salads are a delicious treat all on their own. The Croque Monsieur, a French favorite that is served hot and made with ham, gruyere and parmesan, is sinfully delicious–cheesy, crunchy and something we absolutely have to eat again. We also tried the tuna melt, which is full of flavor and tuna with the ideal amount of mayo. We’re told customers also love the ham, egg and cheese croissant and grilled chicken sandwich.

Press & Moka is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
