Restaurant of the Week: BluSky Restaurant & Bar

BluSky Restaurant & Bar sits on the 12th floor of the beautiful new Radisson Blu Anaheim, offering a Spanish-inspired culinary experience and scenic rooftop views of the sunset and Disneyland fireworks.

Executive Chef Edgar Beas draws his culinary inspiration for the BluSky menu from the iconic Basque Country in Spain, where he worked alongside Michelin-starred Chef Martin Berasategui. Beas’ dishes focus on the ingredients, letting them shine with skilled preparation. He sources various ingredients directly from Spain, including seafood such as turbot and rouget, while also working with the best stateside purveyors.

You can start your culinary journey at BluSky with some Pintxos (known as “small snacks”), which include classic Spanish dishes such as Patatas Bravas and Bacalao al Pil Pil. You can also choose from a variety of Iberian hams and sausages and Spanish cheeses to begin the meal.

For entrees, the options are divided into two sections – Mariscos and Carne y Aves, which include standout offerings like Arroz Negro de Txipiron y Carabinero, a squid ink bomba rice paired with scarlet prawn and chorizo picante; Chuletón de la Casa, the house specialty 40-oz. dry-aged, bone-in ribeye; and Magret de Pato con membrillo, a Moulard duck breast coupled with the fresh quince fruit.

If you’re feeling adventurous, we highly recommend trying Chef’s Tasting Menu — a true Basque Country experience. This seven-course tasting menu is $155 per person and with an optional Spanish wine pairing for $70.

The BluSky team works closely with Spanish breweries and wineries, with highlights that include Witbier from the Inedit Damm in Costa Brava, and Estrella Galicia Special Lager from Hijos de Rivera Brewery. Sparkling options include Segura Viudas Brut Cava and a Paco & Lola 2019 Albariño.

To complement the outstanding food and drink selections is the inviting and relaxing, yet upscale, décor and rooftop patio with stunning sunset views. If you are there late enough, you can also catch the Disneyland fireworks – ideal to enjoy fire-side on the patio with a nightcap.

Blu SkyBar is open for dinner service Wednesday to Thursday, 5 to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 5 to 10 p.m. Cocktail service is also offered Friday and Saturday from 10 to 11 p.m. Reservations are strongly encouraged and can be made online or by calling 657.439.3289.
