Haunted Happenings at Hotel del Coronado

Hotel del Coronado is considered one of the most haunted hotels in America. This October, the beloved National Historic Landmark is giving guests a variety of ways to get in on the spooky fun with fireside ghost stories, haunted tours and much more.

Oct. 1 to Oct. 31: Ghost Roast

Nightly until Halloween, at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., the Ghost Roast gives The Del‘s beloved bonfire tradition a supernatural spin. Guests will snuggle up around the fire, enjoy s’mores and read ghost stories about the haunted hotel. Fire pits can be reserved for a one-hour experience, which includes all s’mores-making items and curated ghost stories from the hotel archives. Reservations are required and can accommodates up to 10 guests.

Oct. 13: Friday the 13 the Séance

On Oct. 13, at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., book this special Haunted Happenings Tour that delves into Kate Morgan’s deadly visit to The Del. On Thanksgiving in 1892, Morgan, who was 24 at the time, died at the hotel, with her body being found on an exterior staircase at the hotel. The 75-minute tour includes an exclusive visit to Morgan’s room followed by a Victorian-styled séance.

Oct. 21: Paranormal Tour

During this hour-long Paranormal Tour on Oct. 21, guests will explore Room 3519 at The Del, where over 400 anomalous (paranormal) phenomena was reported during a year-long assessment of the resort by parapsychologist/anomalist Christopher Chacon in 1992. During the tour, view some of the recorded footage in the room where it happened and learn about the paranormal equipment used today.

Oct. 27: An Evening with the Spirits

During this interactive, fully-immersive event just days before Halloween, guests will explore the roots of the fascination with ghosts, hauntings, talking to the dead and more. Plus, guests will explore the infamous haunting story of Kate Morgan. Tours take place at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
