Everyone’s favorite local ice cream shop in San Diego, Wynston’s Ice Cream Co., will celebrate St. Patty’s Day with a month of themed flavors. Guests can expect limited-edition scoops, including Top O’ the Morning, an oat-based option made with vegan granola; the Lucky Leprechaun, a scoop that tastes like Lucky Charms cereal; the Lucky Irishman, an Irish cream and whiskey flavor with chocolate nibs; and Irish Coffee, a blend of brown sugar, coffee and whiskey. March 11: St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Irish Festival

Head to Balboa Park on Saturday, March 11, for the 41st annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Irish Festival. The event starts at 9 a.m. with over 120 parade displays, Celtic food, craft fairs, dancing, clowns, antique cars and more. The festivities are family-friendly and open to the public. All ticket proceeds will benefit future Irish parades and events in the community.

March 17: Nason’s Beer Hall

Guests who visit Nason’s Beer Hall on St. Patty’s Day are in luck with dining specials to celebrate the holiday. A green Barrio Lager on draft will be poured in addition to discounted glasses of Bushmill’s Irish Whiskey. The beer hall’s menu will also feature a delicious treat, the Ballpark Pudding filled with chocolate custard, Madagascar vanilla whipped cream and salted pretzel crunch. A new menu item, a traditional Irish corned beef plate, will be available only on the Irish holiday at The Blind Pig Kitchen + Bar in Rancho Santa Margarita. The menu will complement an all-night-long happy hour with specials featuring two Irish draft beers and two Irish Old Fashioned cocktails with a variety of Irish whiskeys to choose from. A beachside, Irish-themed festival, the St. Paddy’s O’Beach Party will be taking place on March 17 and March 18 in San Diego. This is one of the best St. Patrick’s Day events in California, with headliners The Expendables playing alongside some of your favorite artists. The second-annual St. Paddy’s O’Beach Party will also feature green beer gardens, cocktails, games, food vendors and more. The fun kicks off at 1 p.m. and will run until 11 p.m. The event is 21-plus, and a portion of the proceeds benefit the community through The Peninsula Alliance.
