Everyone’s favorite local ice cream shop in San Diego, Wynston’s Ice Cream Co., will celebrate St. Patty’s Day with a month of themed flavors. Guests can expect limited-edition scoops, including Top O’ the Morning, an oat-based option made with vegan granola; the Lucky Leprechaun, a scoop that tastes like Lucky Charms cereal; the Lucky Irishman, an Irish cream and whiskey flavor with chocolate nibs; and Irish Coffee, a blend of brown sugar, coffee and whiskey. Wynston’s Ice Cream Co. is open Monday through Friday, 1 to 10 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, noon to 10 p.m.

March 11: St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Irish Festival
Head to Balboa Park on Saturday, March 11, for the 41st annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Irish Festival. The event starts at 9 a.m. with over 120 parade displays, Celtic food, craft fairs, dancing, clowns, antique cars and more. The festivities are family-friendly and open to the public. All ticket proceeds will benefit future Irish parades and events in the community.
Cost: $5 for those 21-plus; entry is free for under 21 and active duty military with ID.

March 17: Nason’s Beer Hall
Guests who visit Nason’s Beer Hall on St. Patty’s Day are in luck with dining specials to celebrate the holiday. A green Barrio Lager on draft will be poured in addition to discounted glasses of Bushmill’s Irish Whiskey. The beer hall’s menu will also feature a delicious treat, the Ballpark Pudding filled with chocolate custard, Madagascar vanilla whipped cream and salted pretzel crunch. Nason’s Beer Hall is open Monday through Thursday, 3 to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 3 p.m. to 12 a.m.

Rancho Santa Margarita
A new menu item, a traditional Irish corned beef plate, will be available only on the Irish holiday at The Blind Pig Kitchen + Bar in Rancho Santa Margarita. The menu will complement an all-night-long happy hour with specials featuring two Irish draft beers and two Irish Old Fashioned cocktails with a variety of Irish whiskeys to choose from. The Blind Pig Kitchen + Bar is open Tuesday through Thursday, 4 to 10 p.m.; Friday, 4 p.m. to 1 a.m.; Saturday, 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The event is strictly 21-plus, and the pub will offer its traditional Irish fare, ice-cold green brews, live music, bagpipe players and much more fun. The annual event starts at 11 a.m. and will run until midnight.
March 17: MIX Restaurant at Hilton Anaheim
Hilton Anaheim’s signature dining destination, MIX Restaurant, is offering its own lineup of holiday fare on March 17. The premier dining spot will offer an extensive dining lineup during dinner from 5 to 10 p.m. The menu was curated by Chef Juan Lopez and features a corned beef dinner utilizing organic and natural ingredients.

March 17 to March 18: St. Paddy’s O’Beach Party
A beachside, Irish-themed festival, the St. Paddy’s O’Beach Party will be taking place on March 17 and March 18 in San Diego. This is one of the best St. Patrick’s Day events in California, with headliners The Expendables playing alongside some of your favorite artists. The second-annual St. Paddy’s O’Beach Party will also feature green beer gardens, cocktails, games, food vendors and more. The fun kicks off at 1 p.m. and will run until 11 p.m. The event is 21-plus, and a portion of the proceeds benefit the community through The Peninsula Alliance.

March 17: The Shamrock Gala
In collaboration with the city of Dublin and the Dublin Historical Society, The Shamrock Gala is one of the many St. Patrick’s Day events in California hosted in honor of the lucky holiday. The semi-formal evening will feature whimsical dancing, light hors d’oeuvres, music, raffle prizes and more. The gala is for those 21-plus only, 6 to 10 p.m., at the Dublin Senior Center.

March 18: Sacramento Shamrock Stroll Pub Crawl
A St. Patrick’s Day would only be complete with a few drinks, and what better way to celebrate than with Sacramento’s Shamrock Stroll Pub Crawl? The crawl will take place on March 18 and feature exclusive access to your favorite bars, specials on holiday-themed drinks, live music experiences and a professional photographer to capture the magical night.
