Hometown: I am from Gaithersburg, Maryland, and made the cross country move to San Diego in 2003.

First job: Little Caesars Pizza — I guess you could say I officially began my culinary career here and I’ve come a long way since then!

Favorite ways to spend your free time in CA: You can find me almost anywhere outdoors doing almost anything — surfing, camping and running are just some of my favorite activities. Living in San Diego, it’s hard not to take advantage of our more than ideal weather and beautiful natural playgrounds.

Your biggest accomplishment and why: I am very proud to say that I have been an active team member of two standout restaurants that won Bib Gourmands by Michelin rating. These awards are a direct reflection of the entire culinary team and feel honored to have achieved this alongside such deserving teams.

Someone who inspires you and why: David Goggins — he is a former Navy SEAL and current ultramarathon runner, triathlete, public speaker, author and Guinness World Record holder. I strive to take his mentality of “no excuses” into my each and every day.

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Take your time and enjoy the ride. Don’t be afraid to fail, as every setback is a unique opportunity to learn from and grow.

Something someone would be surprised to learn about you: I have completed a total of 15 triathlons!

What makes someone fabulous: A positive mindset. This outlook changes everything from one’s character to how they approach day-to-day scenarios.
