Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina Unveils Rumorosa

Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina is undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation that promises to elevate its culinary scene. As a part of the transformation, the hotel is set to introduce four new restaurants, with Rumorosa leading the way as its flagship Cali-Baja-inspired restaurant.

Slated for a 2024 debut, Rumorosa is embracing the rich cultural fusion of Cali-Baja with bold flavors capturing the true essence of San Diego. Rumorosa is derived from the Spanish word for “boisterous,” mirroring the winding route from inland to the Baja coast. Designed by Forrest Perkins, the restaurant ambience will transport guests to the Baja coast while maintaining a contemporary vibe that complements the resort’s modern elegance. The inviting atmosphere will make it the perfect restaurant for families, friends and co-workers to dine.

“We are located at the epicenter of two flourishing cultural regions and look forward to bringing them together and introducing Rumorosa to San Diego’s vibrant culinary landscape,” says Sean Clancy, vice president and general manager of Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina, in a press release. “We are passionate about creating a restaurant that honors the rich culinary heritage of neighboring Baja, while also embracing the diverse local dining scene. Rumorosa will be a place where guests can immerse themselves in the flavors, aromas and energy of both regions, creating a unique and unforgettable experience.”

“Rumorosa marks the beginning of our resort’s exciting new dining offerings,” says Clancy. “We are assembling the best experiences from around the region into four distinct outlets, allowing guests to sample the area’s best eats and drinks in one destination while maintaining the locally-inspired ambiance for which Sheraton is known.”

The menu will feature an array of authentic Baja dishes, with a focus on locally sourced fish from Point Loma. Expect mouthwatering aguachiles, tortas and tacos served alongside other classics. Executive Chef Marcos Seville will infuse the menu with fresh seasonal produce, marinated meats, fresh-pressed juices and more. Guests can anticipate an interactive dining experience, including tableside chips and salsa carts and live music.

Rumorosa’s cocktail menu will highlight regional spirits with a focus on agave- and sugar-cane-based liquors. The cocktails will feature premium distillates like tequila, mezcal, sotol, charanda and tepache. Adult aguas frescas will also be featured on the menu, along with a selection of Mexican lagers and regional wines from Baja California.
